Development of Teaching Czech as a Second Language, OP PPR, implemented 5/20-12/22

Project outcomes:

• Textbook Paráda! Učíme se česky.
• Workbook Paráda! Učíme se česky.
• Course in Teaching Czech as a Second Language for teaching staff, accredited in the DVPP system of the Ministry of Education  

Language courses for foreign children migrating from Ukraine, implemented 04/2022–08/2022

• In July and August 2022, we organized three rounds of Czech language courses for Ukrainian high school students.

Czech language training for Ukrainian citizens in Prague, implemented 09/2022–12/2022

Project outcomes:

• Teacher’s book for the Paráda! Učíme se česky textbook.
• Czech language courses for refugees from Ukraine.

Accredited DVPP course teaching Czech as a Second Language

• Since winter 2020, we have been organizing a Teaching Czech as a Second Language course for Czech language teachers.

A tool to practice the speech sounds of Czech for teaching non-native speakers

Projcet outcomes:

• Interactive application for Czech pronunciation training for non-native speakers
• Printed publication for parallel use with the publication
• Publication containing Czech names of countries, inhabitant names, and adjectives, including their voicing in the app.

Czech as a non-native language from the theoretical and computational perspective (GAČR grant, No. 16-10185S), implemented 2015–2022

Project outcomes:

• Analysis of Czech morphology in the language of non-native speakers
• Non-standard word forms taxonomy design
• Non-native speaker language processing tools for the CzeSL learner corpus
